AU Information and Details
Jun. 25th, 2012 10:30 am 'Koji' as he's called appears fairly different from Gin. This is what happens when you move from being in your mid thirties to the size of a ten year old.
Exactly how did he get there though? Essentially, once upon a time in his world there was a section of the Organization that seemed to defy the typical rule of criminal rings; how did it 'defy' the rule you may ask?
When it seemed that they would potentially break off from the org two years after Conan came into being, they were not simply destroyed. Evidently their resources and powers were somehow too vital; and while Gin would mentally question that, he was sent nonetheless with the intent to mole out their plans for the future.
Before he had done so much as step foot on the island that their facilities were located he was 'caught' by the section's top man. In return for continuing to remain loyal- something they had intended from the start- Gin was to stay there.
Permanently.
Whichhhhh led to 1 and a half years dealing with people who evidently thought the best thing in the world was movie night or karaoke after a day of experimenting in what mind as well have been fringe science before being shrunk down after a vat- yes, a vat- of chemicals relating to APTX collapsed through the roof of the room he was in at the time.
Which lead to... One and a half MORE years on the island, pretending to be a former co-worker's nephew since... She'd apparently had the brilliant idea to declare him dead! ...As well as remind him what the section would do if he hadn't apparently dissolved into goo instead.
After those three years on an island, said coworker would plot to have him, along with her own daughter, escape the island proper. Part of this involved poisoning him with another experimental drug with... Interesting side effects that would later end up in Conan's possession of well. (Though not by his hand, he'll have you know!)
Maybe those three years made him grow 'soft'. Maybe it was the poison. He has a life debt to Conan though, thanks to the fact that he actually had a relative in the org, a relative that was with him when the vat collapsed. A relative who he believed did not make it. A relative that was married to the coworker that saved HIM, making the life-debt required by this point anyways!
As it is. Conan had no cure by grade 5. And after the second poison, there COULD be no cure. But despite all that, they seem to be doing alright... Mostly.
He's on 'neutral ground' with the Organization as he would explain to Ai and Conan (once they realized that Koji being miniaturized and the like meant he was just as screwed as they were at least). He's not about to rat out to Conan where everything is; they're more rivals if anything other than mortal enemies. At the same time, he's not about to support what will kill HIM on sight at that. Events of the fanfic lead to only one 'real' tie to the Organization after all...
And he'd rather eat glass than team up with Vermouth right now.
